In Angeles City, 80 kilometres north of Manila, thousands of foreign single men visit its growing sex tourism trade each year. As sex tourists depart the city, they leave behind a generation of children who are growing up with no idea who their father is and no support, in search of their own identity.
With poverty a growing issue in the Philippines, Marica ended up working in these bars from a young age, earning up to 1000 peso (£15) a night from foreign customers. However when paying customers demanded no contraception to be used, she fell pregnant and was left to live in poverty with no support.
We met Alex, John and Katrina who were all born knowing only the first name of their fathers. Now living in poverty a few miles from the red light district in Hadrians slum, they dream to build a new future for a way out. With an ambition to support themselves without a father, they all hope to go to college and have a career.
